About this area

Woods, Clay, and Shade Shape How We Work Here

Homes near Cascade Springs Nature Preserve sit close to mature trees, so shaded lots and thin turf are common. The red clay soil here holds water after rain. This means drainage problems pop up more than in open, sunny subdivisions. We've worked on yards near the preserve where moss took over the lawn under old oaks. The fix was more about soil and sun than seed. Folks near Alfred Tup Holmes Golf Course deal with similar shade issues. Residents in this part of southwest Atlanta often want native plants that handle both shade and clay without constant maintenance.

✓ Shaded lots near the preserve need moss and turf fixes, not just mowing
✓ Red clay soil here drains slowly, so grading matters before planting
✓ Mature tree canopy near the preserve means regular storm debris cleanup

Work We've Done Near Cascade Springs Nature Preserve

The older trees and clay soil near Cascade Springs Nature Preserve create a steady list of jobs. We see shade problems, erosion, and storm damage more here than in newer subdivisions farther out.

Shade lawn renovation

A homeowner near the preserve had moss taking over her backyard. We reworked the soil and switched to a shade-tolerant mix that actually holds.

Erosion control on sloped lots

Lots near the nature preserve often slope toward the trails. We install erosion barriers and ground cover to stop red clay from washing out.

Storm debris and branch cleanup

After storms roll through southwest Atlanta, big limbs come down near the preserve's tree line. We've cleared yards here within a day of calls.

Native plant beds

Residents near Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Park often ask for native beds that survive shade and clay without heavy watering. We design around what already grows well here.

Invasive vine removal

English ivy and kudzu creep in from the wooded edges near the preserve. We pull it out before it climbs fences and trees.

Yard cleanups near municipal buildings

We've handled cleanups for properties near the United States Postal Service branch and Atlanta Fire Rescue Station 25. Curb appeal matters for foot traffic in these spots.

Great landscaping service. I worked with Grant and Abe. Both were good at communicating. Abe and his crew fantastic and the result looks awesome. We had a bunch of rock dropped off and the delivery driver nicked our gate but Grant offered to repair it and ordered a replacement part for the fix. That's top notch.

LOVED working with Grantlanta! I worked with Zach B to get a huge, overgrown swath of my backyard fully cleared. Zach was diligent about communicating and scheduling, and was kind and knowledgeable. Grant himself also assisted in the clearing and hauling, which I really appreciated. All in all, an excellent experience and I’m excited to keep working with them in the future.

Grantlanta did an excellent job resetting my front and back yard allowing me to keep my sanity given the amount of rain that resulted in a ton of overgrowth. They removed and cleaned everything we discussed and mulched where it needed to be mulched. All was done on time with great attention to detail. I’m very happy with the result, to say the least!
